I have dark brown hair that resists perms, curlers, and coloring as much as it can. I enjoy running a wide variety of RPG's and LARP's, I write short stories, I enjoy playing in a variety of RPG's and LARP's, and I used to volunteer time working with Battered Women. I am certifiable, that is to say, I am certified as a Domestic Violence Counselor in California.
My current position is working for one of the most well-known role playing game companies, in an attempt to help it break into a new, digital future. Even if I have to bring it kicking and screaming.
I like movies with "Lori-able" endings--re: they either resolve with appropriate closure or have happy endings...I feel the TV provides plenty of free bad news, why spend $10 to be depressed?
I am happily married. I am often in the company of two cats when home, who do their best to regurgitate or shed on pretty much everything I own. But I love them anyway (I think they're putting something in the water).
I have moved to Bellevue, WA (near Seattle for those of you not around here), in the last five years. It was a traumatic experience, but I feel I'm the better for it. Also, the same amount of money for a house in CA would have purchased me a shack without a door; I'm very happy with my home in WA.
My favorite authors are Robert Heinlein and Zenna Henderson (I like a little Mark Twain now and again and I love poetry by Dorothy Parker). I do a ton of craft stuff to burn off anxiety, with my current fascination being with jewelry. Okay, I'm always fascinated by it, now I'm making it as well as being fascinated by it.
I read. I like to play basketball. I like to dance in the rain with my hapless husband who does it merely to indulge me. My husband is a house husband by the choice of us both, for as long as we can, because I hate to cook and clean and run errands and his idea of a good time is taking care of someone (fortunately, that someone is me).
I write about my life, my thoughts...if you impress me, you may hear me write about my philosophy, religion, or political leanings. I generally hold these close to my chest. I tend to write about the dreams I have, replete with interpretation. I got my undergraduate degree in psychology, so I can't really help it.
I used to work in computers at a large monolithic computer software company that pretty much dominates the Seattle area. I like old radio plays and old movies and my favorite movie star of all time is Errol Flynn. I would give my right arm to look like Myrna Loy.
And I guess, that's me. Sort of. As much as any summary can be. I guess you gotta read to determine if the train of my life is going your way or not.
